Samsung brought together 14 fashion and accessory designers from across the continent in a unique design collaboration to present on the #AmazeAfrica catwalk at the South Africa Fashion Week on Wednesday 30 October at the Pretoria City Hall.
The #AmazeAfrica designers that took part in the making of the collection included Marianne Fassler, Albertus Swanepoel, Black Coffee, LaurenceAirline, Missibaba, 1981 by Nana Brenu, Adele Dejak, Projecto Mental, Rift Valley Leather, Taibo Bacar, Pichulik, Loin Cloth & Ashes and Doreen Mashika.
The majority of the designers are based in Kenya, central Africa and South Africa. Samsung obviously had the right ideal when they were choosing the designers to make the range most appealing to the African audience.
“Just as Samsung connects the continent through technology, it now has the opportunity to create a conversation through fashion,” says Mr Thabiet Allie, Head of Content and Services for Samsung Electronics Africa. “There is real luxury in creating something unique for Africa. Especially limited-edition, hand-crafted accessories that compliment Samsung technology in the ‘real world’ as much as tailor-made content complements it in the digital world. In some cases the accessories become as much the ‘must-have’ item as the product itself: it is the first layer, the window that opens, a casing that protects a deeper, ingenious Samsung world.”Samsungs fashion experience has soon led to growth! Recent collaborations include a limited-edition designed handbag by Alexander Wang, accessory designs by Moschino, and the Korean designer, Kuho womenswear.
Although, there was always a motive for a very popular technology compamy to produce fashion. They were to sure involve their Notebook bags, note covers and pouches for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 & Gear complimented by the Note 10.1, Note 8 and S4 Zoom in their range. Advertisement is key, as it was a pattern for every model to of held one of each of these items down the catwalk as an accessories for high Fashion.
